2:30pm -4:30pm
Fitchburg YMCA
55 Wallace Ave
Fitchburg Ma 01420
Admission for 100 teen males is free but space is very limited and pre-registration is required. Call 978-665-9383 for free tickets (available for pick up at door on the 29th). Some "Status Quo " members of MTV fame will help teach teen boys dance moves along with other teachers. There will be refreshments and information on HIV and STD's, and for those who want, there will be free HIV testing. Males only because Dr. John says there is a demand by boys to learn the masculine version of hip hop and break dancing. A following event for teen girls will come soon. This wonderful event is being organized by TeenAIDS and teen coordinator Zach Bronson along with teen dance instructors, Ben Lapan-Farina and Danny Pace -- with these community partners: Cornerstone Performing Arts Center, LUK, MOC, Three Pyramids, Cleghorn Neighborhood Center, YMCA, Stonyhookz Productions, Fitchburg Police Association, CPF-Pepsi, Minuteman Press and Market Basket.
Unfortunately, the event is limited in scope and size because an anticipated mini-grant from a Worcester County community foundation was not forthcoming.
