Biography:
Giovanni Quiros Rodriguez lives in Guadalupe, Costa Rica, a neighborhood of modest homes one-half hour from downtown San Jose, the country’s capitol. He met Dr. John at his soccer club’s Sunday game. After the game was lost, he volunteered to take Dr. John to the western beach community of Jaco. Together with his friend Diego who drove his father’s car, the 20 year-old, English speaking guide arranged AIDS Attacks at schools, clubs, and on the street.

He works in sales for Washington Mutual in San Jose. He has a bachelor's degree in computer knowledge that he uses in the business. He also works as a personal trainer at Power Fit Gym in Guadalupe where he conducts “spinning” exercises for men and women. He is also a bodybuilder/weightlifter (in the 80-90 kilo weight class) and has competed in Panama representing Costa Rica. He trains five days a week at the gym but “rests” on the weekends except for major, all-day bike trips on Saturdays with his uncle – often 200 kilometers roundtrip in one day (recently to Limon and Jaco). Giovanni is studying English at Uned University, a public school. He is beginning additional studies in business enterprise at Victor Salas School learning to be a certified trainer. His girlfriend Adriana helps TeenAIDS as well. He says he believes in the effectiveness of Dr. John’s outreach.

trabajar con el dr. john a sido una de mis mejores experiencias a lo largo de toda mi vida, esto por el simple hecho de ayudar a la gente hablandoles sobre los riesgos de contraer el sida y demas. nosotros fuimos a visitar colegios en Jaco beach a hablar con los estudiaqntes y contarles muchas historias que john a tenido a lo largo de su vida, esto me gusto demaciado porque durante la traduccion del dialogo yo podia ver los gestos de los jovenes algunos se ponian tristes otros se sorprendian, en fin cientos de expresiones pero todas se juntaban siempre en el final con una gran sonrisa de agradecimiento porque les gustaba nuestro trabajo. Otra cosa de la cual estoy muy feliz tambien de esta experiencia es que logre aprender mucho de john porque yo le conte muchas cosas personales y el con sus consejos me logro abrir mi mente de una gran manera y me hizo entender que la vida es un regalo muy preciado que no se debe perder ni dejar pasar en una forma desapersibida, sino que se debe aprovechar todo al maximo y si vas a experimentar cosas nuevas tienes que estar 100% seguro de que lo quieres hacer.
