Volunteer of the Week for February 23rd, 2007
Cindy Chang

Cindy Chang is from Taiwan. She originally heard about TeenAIDS' worldwide webcast in the summer of '06 from Jae Hee Kim, Korean student delegate at a Washington Conference. Together with friends, Cindy organized AIDS awareness events at school. This is what Cindy wrote Dr. John:
"I'm happy to inform you that we (Linda, Jeffrey, Caroline, and I) DID do something for world AIDS day! We passed out some fliers, and even talked about them in classes! My next plan is to make the charity night (concert) into an AIDS awareness theme. I still have to talk it over with the person in charge but I will try my best to grasp this opportunity. Another thing that I would like to mention is that I have spoken to Linda (we are in different departments in our school so it is sometimes quite difficult to see each other) and she told me that they are forming a red ribbon club (which basically means AIDS club) because the red ribbon organization in Taiwan will fund schools with a red ribbon club."
Dr. John also interviewed Cindy over the phone about her 2006 World AIDS Day activities and you can listen to that interview here.
We hope Cindy and Linda join us again for the World AIDS Day 2007 webcast! The attached two photos are from Cindy's school when they promoted AIDS Awareness over Halloween.
