In the fall of 2006 Dr. John received an email from Ben that said "yeah, I have it". He asked if he could  go with Dr. John when he spoke to young people. Ben attended our worldwide webcast thanks to his mother Mary who drove the four hours from Newport Vermont. The highlight of the webcast for most teenagers was in the Saturday afternoon session when Ben announced to the group that he was born HIV-positive and has been living for 17 years with AIDS. He spoke about how AIDS has affected his life and his friendships. He now wants to become more involved with the TeenAIDS' PeerCorps youth. It is the hope of the teens in attendance at the conference that we go visit and run a mini-awareness meeting for the youth of Newport Vermont.  Ben enjoys breakdancing and made many friends (including his girlfriend) during his stay for the worldwide webcast.  And our fall intern said,"he's the coolest dude ever in the history of dudes!"
