
Victoriya Fedorovna Zahynayko, M.D., is the First Qualificational Category in Infectious Diseases at First Cherkassy City Hospital in Cherkassy, Ukraine. In 1990 she graduated from Kiev Medical University with academician A. A. Bogomolec. From 1996 Dr. Victoriya worked under dissertation "Clinical and Immunological Course HIV-infection/AIDS by Drug Use Injection." Presently, she works with HIV people. She has conducted research and worked in hospitals in Libya.
In year 2005 she was in Massachusetts at U.S. sponsored Project Harmony Community Connection Program when she heard Dr. Chittick speak to many Ukrainian doctors about emerging crisis of youth HIV/AIDS. That meeting changed Dr. Victoriya's life. Dr Chittick's global mission opened hearts of teenagers and adults together for struggle against AIDS. All Dr. Victoriya's further work and life is now connected with Teen AIDS-PeerCorps, because she named to Global Advisory Board for Ukraine and Eastern Europe. In 2005, she started anti-AIDS programme of Dr John Bennett Chittick and Teen AIDS PeerCorps. Together with many of Dr John's Ukrainian friends and people with same thoughts, they set up Dr. John Bennett Chittick Charitable Fund for help people who live with HIV and educate youth about preventive AIDS. Dr. Victoriya Zahynayko and medical colleagues give for patients with HIV correct health medicine (ART and others) from many international companies and among them Chinese corporation Tianshi.
She lives in Cherkassy with her teenage son, Fedor and mother Dr. Maya Zahynayko with whom Dr. Chittick stayed when he worked in Cherkassy. Fedor took an active part in work as translator and street volunteer. They gave to many young people cards with preventive education. She produced a DVD of Dr. Chittick's trainings in Ukraine [excerpts can be seen on website]..Together all family participated in Dr, Chittick's outreach in Cherkassy and Kiev.
