George "Gig" Faux

George Faux joined Fortent in April 2006 as the Group Executive for Client Relationship Management.  In this capacity, he is responsible for the firm's senior client relationships and business development activities.  A veteran of sales and client management in the financial services industry, George spent 18 years at Citigroup and The Chase Manhattan Bank before joining Fortent.

George has been involved with numerous industry initiatives, and currently chairs the Market Advisory Group for the ECB Option 3 Initiative, an industry-wide directive that is restructuring how debt instruments are settled in the European market.

At Citigroup, George served as a managing director and the senior business manager for the Agency and Trust and Depositary Receipt Services businesses in Europe, Middle East, Africa (EMEA) and Asia.  The two businesses are part of Citigroup's Global Transaction Services, a division of the Global Corporate and Investment Bank, encompassing all cash, trade, and securities products and services offered across the Citigroup network.  In this capacity, George was responsible for new business development, transaction negotiation and execution, and product management across EMEA and Asia.  George also had shared responsibility for all senior client relationships within these markets, managed Agency and Trust's relationships with the clearing systems, central banks, and regulators, and had business accountability for OCC reviews, audits, and controls.  George sat on the Agency and Trust and Depositary Receipt Services Management Committee and Commitment Committee, as well as on the Global Transaction Services EMEA Management Team.  He spent five years in this role, from April, 2001 until April, 2006.

Prior to his position in Agency and Trust, George spent four years as the Regional Sales Director of Citibank's Depositary Receipt Services business, based in Singapore with responsibility for new client and business development in the Asia/Pacific region.  In this capacity, George led Citibank's efforts in working with companies and governments on more than 70 equity deals across the region, including many significant U.S. exchange listings, public and private offerings, and privatizations.

George joined Citibank in 1997. Prior to coming to Citibank, he spent eight years with The Chase Manhattan Bank, managing sales teams in various capacities for Europe, Middle East, and Africa; Latin America; and Asia/Pacific. George received his B.A. from Dartmouth College and his M.A. from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.  He has been involved in numerous philanthropic and educational initiatives, and currently serves as the Treasurer of the King's Academy Board of Trustees, and the President of the Phi Delta Alpha Corporation at Dartmouth College.

We are proud to have Gig join our Board.  He and John initially met in London on one leg of his Global Walk and discovered that they both attended Deerfield Academy and Dartmouth College.  G
ig was instrumental in arranging Dr. John's trip to Jordan under the auspices of King Abdullah.  John spoke to Gig's fraternity at Dartmouth.
